Alongside Harrar and Yirgacheffe, Sidamo holds a Designation of Origin for coffee grown in the region. The high altitudes of 1,550 to 2,200 meters above sea level, plentiful rainfall and fertile soil that makes the coffee grown in this region so remarkable.

Grade-G1Q1Grades in Ethiopia depend on visual inspection for defects and on cup quality. Grade 1(G1) is considered the highest quality coffee.

Roasting NotesRoasters should be sure to use a low heat as the beans are delicate, and over roasting can result in a bitter taste. Light and medium roast are popular, and provide the full flavors and rich aromas.

Brewing NotesThis coffee bean is known for being able to be brewed hot or cold. But it is not recommended to serve milk with this coffee as it dulls the acidity of the bean.
